Knee Pain Relief in Bourbonnais

If your knee has been bothering you, you’re certainly not alone. Whether it started suddenly after a workout or crept up on you over time, knee pain has a way of making even the simplest things, like climbing stairs, going for a walk, or getting up from a chair, feel like a challenge. Most people who call our office don’t have a detailed explanation ready. They just know something is off. When patients come in for their regular low back or neck adjustment our doctors always ask if there’s anything else that is bothering them that we may be able to help with. Sometimes the patient just comes in and asks if we can take a look at their knee because it’s been hurting them . That is a perfectly fine place to start. You do not need to know what’s wrong before you walk through our door. That is what we are here to figure out together.

What Causes Knee Pain?

Knee pain can come from a number of different sources. Running and other physical activities are common culprits, as are everyday movements that put repetitive stress on the joint. Sports injuries, overuse, and even hip or ankle misalignment can all show up as knee pain. In fact, roughly 20 to 30 percent of knee problems actually originate somewhere else in the body entirely. That’s why a thorough evaluation matters so much.

We treat a wide range of knee conditions, including meniscus issues, ligament strains, arthritis, and patellar tracking problems. If surgery has been on your mind, know that chiropractic care can often help you avoid that road entirely.

How We Treat Knee Pain

When you come in, we will take the time to really figure out what is going on. That means a full evaluation including range of motion testing, orthopedic assessment, and palpation. From there, we put together a care plan tailored to you.

Treatment may include:

  • Direct adjustment of the knee joint
  • Muscle stimulation and ultrasound
  • Rapid release therapy
  • Taping and orthopedic supports

We handle your care in-house, which means you get a clear explanation of what is wrong and what it will take to get you better, without being bounced around from office to office. Remember, if you see an orthopedic surgeon and the problem is not a surgical problem, you will spend hundreds of dollars and you will most likely be referred to a physical therapist and spend 2 to 3 times per week for the next up to 8 weeksin physical therapy, and still, you may not achieve the result, you desire.

If your knee problem is not a surgical problem better than 50% of our patients see complete resolution of the problem within 4 to 6 weeks, some sooner. Either way, 30 to 50% improvement in two weeks or less is not unusual. Our goal is to get you moving comfortably again as soon as possible.
